I like the way the directer used the very traditional camera angles to capture his image. It is much like a play in that the characters almost never turn their backs to the 'audience'.

I tend to not like movies that are produced recently specifically because the camera angles are so drastic and fast. It almost makes me want to throw up. I like the way they filmed the film "forbidden Planet", even though it might not have been on purpose. It was probably due to budget, and they could only afford one or two cameras.

I found this movie, "Forbidden Planet", very enjoyable. The sound effects, in today’s standards, would be considered as a negative feature to the movie, but considering how old the film is, the sound is added to the plot of the story. It was interesting to watch, knowing that the monster was coming, while the crew of the ship had no idea. It was not appealing to see that the space ship was a flying saucer, so I agree with the person in class that mentioned that.
Throughout the movie, there were a few scenes in which it was obvious that Morbius had something to do with the monster. The first scene was when Morbius was first met on the radio and told the ship to return to Earth, “unseen forces” would rip them apart. Another scene was when Morbius was found missing from his office. The most eye opening scene was when the monster attacked the crew, and disappeared when Morbius awoke.

Throughout the movie there were many things that you don’t see too much in other science fiction movies an example of this is the humans in the film "Forbidden Planet" arrived in a flying saucer instead of some other kind of a spaceship like the ones seen in almost all other science fiction or space travel movies. But instead they arrived in a space ship that is usually piloted by aliens or other space creatures.
